All drivers must undertake 35 hours of periodic training during the course of the next five years, and within every five-year period thereon. All of our 7-hour courses have been approved by JAUPT. Once a driver has attended 35 hours of Periodic Training he will qualify to renew his Drivers CPC at his 5 year anniversary.
All drivers who renew their DCPC will be issued with a Driver Qualification Card, so by 2014 all drivers employed in the industry should actually be carrying a DQC.
Here are the dates for driver CPC courses to be held at this centre for the remainder of 2011.
The 5 day classroom based courses will cover the following:
- 9th – 13th Jan 2012

- Digital Tachograph & Drivers Hours (Mondays)
- Driver Development & Environmental issues (Tuesdays)
- Daily walk-round checks, defect reporting & safe loading of vehicles (Wednesdays)
- Health and Safety (Thursdays)
- First Aid (Fridays)
Courses run from a Monday morning, with registration starting at 8.00am till 4.00pm depending on the requirements of the individual candidate. All 5 days do not have to be taken in one week. We understand individuals may not have the time, or need to cover 5 days in a row, so you have the option to pick and choose.
On completion of each 7 hour block of training, drivers will be issued with an Attendance Certificate.
Please note: there are no exams or tests with Periodic Training, it is purely attendance based – drivers will not have to pass any exams or tests to retain their driving licence or renew their CPC. It is considered best practice to make sure that courses do include some element of assessment, but the 35 hours Periodic Training is on an attendance basis only
