This position will involve the applicant taking on the role of Apprentice Chef and will be required to:

  • Support the Head Chef in ensuring the efficient and effective running of the kitchen.
  • Ensure and maintain standards of cleanliness, relating to the working areas and kitchen equipment, complying with company standards and legal requirements.

 

They are offering £80.40 per week, 30 hours. You will work towards a Level 2 NVQ in Professional Cookery with day release to Gateshead College to complete Technical Certificate and Functional Skills.

Apprentice Customer Service Officer

The Apprentice will be tasked with:

  • Sending out contracts
  • Chasing contracts that need to be signed
  • Filing documents
  • Answering incoming calls
  • Making outgoing customer service calls
  • Liaising with the depot about missed collections/ customer queries

 

They are offering £99.16 per week, 37 hours. You will work towards a Level 2 NVQ in Customer Service with day release to Gateshead College to complete Technical Certificate and Functional Skills.

Apprentice Electrical & Mechanical Engineer

  • Carry out preventative maintenance programmes on a variety of rolling stock and Depot infrastructure repairs/maintenance. Programmes include duty checks, inspections according to examination sheets, component changes and overhaul of various rolling stock parts – where trained assessed and deemed competent
  • Investigate faults on voltages ranging from 1500V dc down to electronics voltages.
  • Refurbishment and modification of rolling stock including the replacement and upgrading of components and systems.
  • Respond to in service breakdowns and also take part in a ‘first response situation’ should emergencies in service arise.
  • Carry out component overhauls as instructed when trained and deemed competent to do so.
  • Carry out any duties trained and deemed competent to perform e.g. work in the Lifting Shop, drive Metro cars/Locos and Fork Lift trucks when needed, as part of shift duties.
  • Participate in integrated teams when performing electro-mechanical equipment changes on Metro cars, involving multi-skilling, is essential
  • Other duties, for example, slinging and movement of equipment as required
  • Contribute to Depot upkeep, take responsibility for cleanliness and environmental obligations on the Depot
  • Participate in any Service Quality Regime work that may be required.
  • Carry out any Tasks as shown in the attached Skills Matrix where the Technician is trained and deemed competent.

 

They are offering £157.22 per week, 37 hours. You will work towards a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering with block release and day release to Gateshead College to complete PEO Level 2, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills.

Apprentice Welder

 

The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in engineering and be able to work to fine tolerances. They will be using press machinery to create lettering, illuminated signs and a variety of displays. The candidate will also be required to carry out welding as part of the manufacturing process Previous experience not required but reliability, commitment and a willingness to learn are vital to this post.

 

They are offering £107.20, 40 hours. You will work towards a Level 3 NVQ in Engineering Manufacturing (Craft and Technician) with day release to Gateshead College to complete Technical Certificate and Functional Skills.

Duties will include:

  • Assist in the daily running of the restaurant, bar area
  • Ensure a consistently high level of service offered to customers.
  • Deal with customer requests in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ensure all documentation i.e. checks/bills are completed as necessary and carried out to meet the Company Standards.
  • Actively promote sales.
  • Abide by all Company policies and procedures, including the Health & Safety, Food Safety & COSHH.
  • Ensure co-operation and compliance with all legislation relevant to your role in the business.

 

They are offering £80.40 per week, 30 hours. You will work towards a Level 2 NVQ in Food & Beverage Service with day release to Gateshead College to complete Technical Certificate and Functional Skills.
